Our Honest Review 

We truly feel Uizard is the best AI UX Design Tool out there at the moment. Is it perfect? No. But it’s really, really useful and can speed up design workflows significantly.

Here are the 3 things we liked the most about Uizard:

• It’s the only text prompt to UI generator we’ve tried that doesn’t totally disappoint
• Its AI chatbot is helpful to modify designs quickly, so you can not just start faster but iterate faster
• It’s got a number of smaller AI features that automate tasks you don’t necessarily want to spend time on, like generating UI images and digitizing hand-drawn sketches

We tested most of the core Uizard features. Here’s how each one performed.

Is Uizard worth it?

Uizard is a handy AI UI Generation tool, but it’s not a complete replacement for Figma (yet). Parts of Uizard are useful and it's the best AI UI Generator we’ve come across, but we’d give it 6-12 more months before it really becomes “worth it”.

Auto-Designer: Turn text prompts into designs

Honest Review: Decent

This seems to be the task most AI UX Tools struggle with most, and Uizard is no exception. It does much better than other tools we tried like Galileo, but it’s output isn’t close to usable (yet).

Here’s the output when we asked Uizard to generate a homepage for Looppanel:

Not amazing, but we expect this to get much better in coming months.

Uizard did a much better job when asked to make a single screen at a time with specific instructions on colors and design styles.

Here’s the prompt we used:

I need a website landing page for a SaaS app. The product is for UX Researchers. It helps them analyze user interviews 10x faster by making notes, auto-tagging data and simplifying analysis. Use this colour as a primary accent: #5B7EDB Keep the design clean and modern.

Output Uizard provided:

Again—not about to write home for this one, but the fact that I can keep tweaking it helps me get much closer to what I want.

Generate Images

Honest Review: Good enough for internal mock ups

We put in a prompt of an image we’d actually need for a mock up at Looppanel, and to be honest the result wasn’t bad. Especially for internal alignment / quick iterations, this could be a useful way to waste less time searching on “copyright free images” on Unsplash. Besides, it might prevent every company website from ending up with the same 3 stock photos on their homepage. 😂

Honest Review: Skip it

This one was terrible. We sometimes had to do a double take to see if it changed the copy at all in its suggestion—it usually just moved one or two words around in a way that wasn’t very helpful.

Generate UI Theme

Honest Review: Meh

We put Canva’s website in as UI-nspiration, and the results were okay and fairly underwhelming.

TLDR: The reviews are mixed, with some users finding value in Uizard for specific use cases, while others are disappointed with its limitations and output quality. On average folks feel it’s not quite there yet but keep in mind that these tools are evolving at the speed of light—and the reviews take some time to catch up!

Short answer: not really. You can get a few AI generations for free every month—those are enough to play with the product, but not to integrate Uizard into your workflow if you’re a full time designer.

You’ll get a whole lot more AI generation at $12 / month which honestly isn’t too bad, if you’re seeing value in the product.

Uizard Alternative: Figma AI

Honest Figma AI Review: Figma AI claims to do a lot of the same stuff as Uizard, as per Config 2024. The features are still limited to beta users so it’s hard to test them out for yourself, but based on some Figma bashing on Reddit, it doesn’t seem like we’re missing much. 👀

Uizard vs Figma: Which is better, Figma or Uizard?

Figma is still a better design tool than Uizard (although everyone seems to hate their new design update). It’s just had a longer time to build robust capabilities that designers are familiar with and expect to see in their design tool. But if you’re interested in AI? I’d bet on Uizard over Figma AI right now.

Uizard Alternative: Galileo AI

f you try to use Galileo to design an entire landing page or UI in one go, it’s not great. Here’s what happened when we shared this prompt to create a homepage for a SaaS app.

I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t use any of these designs directly. Galileo AI seemed to do a better job when asked to do a better job when asked to do a specific task (e.g., create a design system), but we ran out of credits before we could truly test it out.

Uizard Free Alternative: Visily

Visily is another Uizard alternative Their AI features are also in beta, but mirror a lot of what Uizard is working on.

To keep things fair, we asked Visily to create a UI with the same prompt we fed Uizard. The output isn’t great:

There is no functionality to export from Uizard back to Figma. However, Uizard does offer a Figma plugin that allows you to import elements from Figma into Uizard. 

One suggested workaround is to download your Uizard designs as screenshots or SVGs, and then import those into Figma. This would allow you to bring the Uizard designs into Figma, but you would likely lose some of the editability and layering information in the process.

Is Uizard compatible with Figma?

There isn’t a seamless, two-way export capability between the two platforms at this time. However, Uizard and Figma can work together through the Figma plugin, allowing you to import Figma elements into Uizard. 

How to export from Uizard?
Exporting your work from Uizard is straightforward. Here's how to do it:

1. Open your project in Uizard.
2. Click on the "Export" button in the top right corner.
3. Choose what you want to export: images, PDF, or code.
4. For images, pick the screens you want and select the file type (PNG or JPEG).
5. For PDFs, decide if you want all screens or just some.
6. For code, choose between React or HTML/CSS.
7. Click "Export" and wait for Uizard to create your files.
8. Download the exported files to your computer.

Remember, the code export isn't perfect. It's a starting point, not a finished product. You'll likely need to tweak it to make it work just right.
